7 – GeographyWe have discussed six geographical regions in Arkansas that are characterized by their distinct physical and biological landscapes that make Arkansas so amazingly diverse. Geographical regions were responsible for early settlement patterns, battlefield locations, the rise and decline of certain economic development, and even outlined political party associations. Arkansas is bounded on the east by the Mississippi River which separates it from Mississippi and Tennessee; on the north by Missouri; on the west by the plains of Oklahoma and Texas; and on the south by Louisiana. The lowest point in the state is 54 feet above sea level and Mount Magazine has the highest elevation in the state, 2,753 feet above sea level. Petit Jean is cleft by a canyon with a 75-foot waterfall. It stands 27th in size among the states, with an area of 53,187 square miles. During your research find an image, picture or video of two of these regions to include in your movie.
